Florada Garden Buildings Ltd has been manufacturing quality modular wooden garden buildings at its factory in Margate, Kent since 1995.
We sell our products extensively throughout Europe to garden centres and in the Uk direct to the customer at considerably reduced prices.
We are confident that the quality of our buildings are set at an unbeatable price. Of course you can buy cheaper from DIY outlets and some garden centres but they are not the same – not by a long way.
Florada only uses planed softwood cladding purchased from sustainable sources, all of which has been kiln dried and is in principle free from blue stain and dead knots. WE DO NOT USE SHEET MATERIALS!
All of our products are supplied untreated. This means that the quality of the timber used for manufacture is immediately apparent; we do not try to hide imperfections or filler under a factory applied “basecoat”.
As responsible manufacturers we take our commitment to supplying safe, value for money products very seriously. This is clearly demonstrated by the certification of our entire range of children’s wooden playhouses to EN71, the European Safety Standard for Toys for domestic use. This legislation covers everything from a yo-yo to a chemistry set and everything in between.
Playhouses manufactured Florada Garden Buildings Ltd have all been tested and certified by an independent consumer product testing laboratory, accredited by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) and Notified under EU legislation. Therefore you can be sure that our playhouses have been designed and manufactured to make them safe for your children to play on/in.
All buildings manufactured by Florada Garden Buildings Ltd are supplied in a modular, flat packed format for home assembly. Every building we make is constructed from Tongued and Grooved (mostly with a shiplap profile), planed softwood which has been purchased from sustainable sources. Every Florada product has a Real Wood Roof and where there is a floor this is also Real Wood; we do not use OSB or chipboard on our products.
NO component part on ANY of our products is longer than 1.95m (about 77”) or 1.15m wide (about 45”) – Indeed most component parts are quite a lot smaller than this. This means that getting the panels in those “hard to access” gardens, including terraced houses, should never be a problem
The modular design of the buildings offers you the flexibility to vary the design at the time that the building is erected. Examples of these variations include, though not exhaustively, picking the window positions that best suit the direction of the sun, choosing which side to fit a log store, changing the nest box position on a chicken run or moving the security door on an aviary.
All Florada buildings are supplied untreated. This means that the quality of the timber is immediately visible and that we are unable to use fillers in knot holes and subsequently try to hide it by applying a factory basecoat stain. The use of filler would in any effect negate the certification to EN71 on our playhouses. Additionally, your choice of finish is not restricted by any pre-applied colours.
The planed timber used on our products lends itself to taking paint or other “high end” finishes, further enhancing the feeling of quality.
All Florada apex roof sheds, single and double door, feature opening windows as standard. This offers you the chance to ventilate the building as requires, or if it’s your preference fix the windows shut; the choice is yours. Horticultural glass (Greenhouse glass) is supplied as standard with our buildings, providing a link back to traditional shed building.
Included in the price is everything you need to erect your building, except of course tools and labour. All of the external hardware has been Japanned, Galvanised, Passivated or Sheradised so as to be suitable for external use. Each florada product is delivered on its own individual pallet which means that you will be able to find and identify everything in one place. The fact that everything is on one pallet simplifies the whole delivery process and helps eliminate mistakes.
The assembly instructions form part of the delivery label from our factory to your home. Therefore if they are not with the building when it leaves our factory, the building cannot be delivered. This simple innovation also helps to negate another potential problem.
