If you cannot find the answer that you are looking for then please contact us.
We will aim to answer you within 48 hours on receipt of your question, but please bear with us if we take longer, especially at ‘peak’ times of the year.
DELIVERY
Q) Where do you deliver to?
A) We deliver throughout UK mainland only. We cannot deliver outside of mainland UK.
Q) Is there and extra charge for delivery?
A) No, there is no extra charge for delivery, however some outer/hard to reach areas of the UK may incur a small additional charge. Please contact us to discuss this if you are unsure before you make your purchase.
Q) When my item is delivered will the driver put it in my garden for me?
A) Unfortunately not. Delivery will be kerbside only.
BUILDING ASSEMBLY
Q) Will you assemble my building for me?
A) Unfortunately not. All buildings on this website are sold flat packed for home self assembly.
Q) Will I get a full set of instructions with my building and all the necessary hardware etc?
A) Yes you will. The instructions will be included with the label on the front of the building. All necessary hardware, roofing felt, glazing etc will be packed inside the building.
Q) Will I need a base for my building? If so what type of base does it need to be?
A) Yes, we recommend that all of our buildings are put on a solid level base. We recommend either a concrete base or something like paving slabs.
Q) Why do I need a solid base for my building? And why does it need to be level?
A) As our buildings are made in modular sections, it only takes one panel to be out of place and the rest of the building will not fit together correctly. The same goes for if the base is not level. If the building slopes to one side it will lean and not fit together correctly.
BUILDING TREATMENTS
Q) Do your buildings come supplied treated?
A) No, all of our buildings are supplied UNTREATED. The upside is that we cannot “hide” anything with a colour wash. Also (especially when it comes to the playhouses) you can let your imagination ‘run riot’ with finishes. You may want a pink and purple playhouse – not much help if they were only supplied in green and brown!
Q) Can you treat the building for me?
A) No, we have no facilities to offer this service.
Q) Can you recommend treatments/preserves?
A) In terms of brands we cannot. However we do advise that you use an oil based preserve on the underside of the floor panels, and a ‘paint on’ preserve rather than a ‘soak in’ preserve on any wall panels and trims. As our buildings are clad in plained timber, to give a smooth finish, the ‘soak in’ preservatives do not tend to take so well.
Q) Can I treat the building once it is put up, or is it best to do it beforehand?
A) We always recommend that you preserve the whole building before putting it together so as you can preserve the underside of the floor panels and get into all those ‘nooks and crannies’.
Q) How often should I treat the building once it is put up?
A) As often as the treatment recommends, or as often as you wish.
EN71 FOR PLAYHOUSES
Q) What is EN71?
A) EN71 is the European safety standard for children’s playhouses and play equipment.
Q) Does this mean that you have had these buildings tested and certificated?
A) Yes we have. All playhouses featured on this website went through laboratory testing and each one has been certificated for all the relevant areas.
Q) Can I see these certificates?
A) Yes you can, please contact us and we can send you the relevant certificates for your reassurance.
BUILDINGS
Q) Can I add or take away windows on my shed?
A) Yes you can, unless otherwise stated. If you wish to have fewer or no windows the price will remain the same as if you were purchasing a standard building. If you wish to add windows then there is a charge per window (see shed extras and add on’s for more details).
Q) Can you modify the buildings you make, or build to my individual requirements?
A) No. As we specialise in modular buildings everything is built around our standard ‘jigs’ and framework. We do not have the facilities to make to individual requirements.
Q) Can I add a veranda kit or log store to my shed at a later date?
A) We always recommend that you purchase and fit the building and any extras at the same time. This just saves you ‘a bit of messing around’ later on; but if you wish to yes you can extras later on, providing it is made to fit the building you have purchased. If you are unsure contact us and we will advise you accordingly. |
